Scott, old friend,
What you say adds validation to my own philosophy. Your message to SLOW DOWN is right on! I don’t have 9 kids as do you. But my wife and I have devoted the bulk of our time to being our 2 kids’ best friends, often at the expense of what some would consider “Our time” (adults only, time) and the pursuit of other personal or professional goals. Some, over the years, have questioned our priorities…but…as a result, the troubled teen years and generation gap that plagues most parents, somehow missed us. In fact, my wife and I have become renowned as “the parents that listen”…not just to our own kids, but to others. I’d like to think that my recognition of what’s important had something to do with it. And as our own kids entered their teen years, we took it upon ourselves to adopt a troubled child. And we are employing the same “Talk to me” philosophy to that child as we did to our own. It works. Way to go, Scott!
Scott,
I am proud of the man, father, and Christian you have become! I of course remember when you moved to San Diego, Mrs. Barnes second grade class!
I listened to your sermon posted on this site, it was awesome!
You are an inspiration , greatly motivating the minds of those you speak with to answer that age old question, all the while leaving it to them to discover what that question actually is for each one of them.
The answer: Gabriel Standard Time.
You are a marvel to the modern speaking world.
God bless you,
Daryl
