Here are just a few comments on Scott:
1. I have known Scott for over 25 years and it’s only been in the last couple years that I have been exposed to his skill as a public speaker. In that short time, his skills have magnified exponentially. Exposure to such progress has been first hand due to our mutual Toastmasters experience.
As the old saying goes, “Nothing sells like sincerity and if you can fake that, you’ve really got something.” Faking it isn’t necessary for Scott as he is incapable of anything but sincerity. Simply being Scott gets the attention of the audience immediately and powerfully. His style is low key, conversational and spontaneous thus relating to audiences on their level because his delivery is always with them, not at them.
Command of well-timed pauses is Scott’s hallmark. It draws in the listener begging the question, “What’s next?” His subject matter choices are pertinent to the recipient’s concerns and he rarely relies on notes. This only adds to his emotion evoking delivery.
It would be easy to write pages about Scott and his expanding speaking abilities but it suffices to say, Scott Hammond is an excellent speaker who continues to get better with each performance.
